Welcome to the Woodlands Country House Bed and Breakfast Website. Our luxury bed and breakfast accommodation is located in Gorey, Co. Wexford, in the sunny south east of Ireland. We hope you will enjoy your stay, and find it interesting and informative, we would be delighted to accommodate you in our country house accommodation should you decide to visit this beautiful part of Wexford in person.
Built in 1836, the award winning Woodlands Country House is set in 2. acres of mature Gardens and courtyard of old stone buildings. This beautiful Georgian residence retains all the characteristics of the period and offers superb accommodation. The O'Sullivan family offer you the hospitality of their home and it's history.
The surrounding area is very quite with lovely woodlands walks, on the grounds there is a river walk, and a tennis court with rackets and balls supplied. Woodlands is tucked away in the woods just a few miles outside Gorey making it idyllic for holiday makers looking to rest and switch off. Our en-suite rooms are well maintained and feature Power Showers, comfortable beds, some have LCD T.V. and balconies. All toiletries are supplied, hairdryers, also electric blankets to make your bed more comfy on cold nights and tea/coffee facilities. Central Heating through out the home and log fires. On arrival guest are greeted with tea/coffee and home made scones with preserves are served.
Breakfasts are freshly cooked to order, with choice of menu. Our buffet table has lots of fresh fruits, juices, cereals, yoghurts and cheeses. Separate tables in our beautiful sunny dining room, looking out on the back gardens There is hill walking within 10 minutes drive, or beach walking also within 10 minutes. This is a very special place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. With 2. acres of mature gardens, river and small lake and woodland,and lots of seated areas, it must be the best place in Ireland to relax, switch off and be pampered.
Philomena will be pleased to spend time with you arranging your day trips around Counties Wexford and Wicklow, and if you wish to hear the story of the history of this house, Philomena will relate it to you over a cup of tea/coffee in your spare time. As this house was built in 1836 it has lots of History.
Woodlands B & B is a beautiful well preserved Georgian House with beautiful antiques. Relax in comfortable old world charm in the heart of the Wexford Countryside. Why not take a break at Woodlands Country House, take a stroll by the river on the grounds, sit by the small lake and listen to the birds, or take a walk through the woods adjacent, which takes you to the local village, have a pint in the local pub or visit the beautiful PUGIN Church.
Also within ten minutes drive is hill or coastal walks. Why not get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Plenty of help with where to go and what to do. Lots of fine restaurants in the Gorey and greater Wexford area.
