The south east coast is an anglers paradise, as it has miles of varied shoreline for those who enjoy sea fishing. The coast is dotted with established and equipped deep sea angling centers with fast modern vessels. In addition, a maze of rivers criss-cross the region, providing extensive opportunities for both coarse and game angling.
The fishing grounds are easy to reach from our bed and breakfast accommodation, with over 200 km of coastline, it is one of our greatest resources.
Shore angling is very popular pastime among the locals who can direct you the best locations. for game angler; the Rivers Barrow and Slaney are the two largest and cleanesd rivers.
Always seek Landowner's permission first and obtain the relevant licenses and permits.
Sea angling is an exciting sport for beginners and the experienced angler. Boat fishing competitions in recent years have seen up to 30 species coming to the scales; conger, ling, pollock and cod are some of the more common species caught. Licensed Charter Boats have only a short distance to travel to reach very productive banks and reefs. Numerous wrecks off the east and southwest Wexford coastline also add variety to the sport of rod and man.
All of the boats listed are Department of the Marine licensed and fully insured. Fully equipped, fast purpose built boats, providing deep sea and wreck fishing for groups (max 10-12) or individuals. Pleasure and sightseeing charters can also be arranged; trips around the Saltee Islands are particularly enjoyable. Dolphins, seals, and rare bird species are just some of the wildlife to be observed. Wreck, reef and shark fishing are also a popular charter. A wide range of beaches and rocky headlands present the shore angler with a variety of challenges. Five information boards giving details of main locations, species available, bait availability etc. have been erected at the following locations by the Eastern Regional Fisheries Board. There are also 41 'brown' directional signs strategically placed throughout the County.

Coarse and Game Angling
The River Slaney is available to the public from the old bridge in Enniscorthy downstream. It holds good stocks of salmon and some sea trout; it is predominately a spring river. Short-term permits may be available for other beats. Small stocks of brown trout are available in some of the River's tributaries.
A four-acre lake outside of New Ross town provides an excellent facility for up to 70 rods fishing simultaneously.
